• Workshop for Exchange of Good Practices in Foreign Trade Representation

    When: 14 November 2012 08:00 - 15 November 2012 17:00

    Where: Dhaka, Bangladesh

The Foreign Trade Representation (FTR) Programme of ITC supports three major categories of actions to strengthen overseas trade networks in developing countries: good practice workshops at regional level, advisory missions and training workshops at national level. Over the last three years, national training events have been implemented for Mexico, Guatemala, Belize, Egypt, Benin, Indonesia, Algeria, Bangladesh and Côte d’Ivoire. Indonesia and Paraguay have benefitted from advisory missions. Good practice workshops for FTR network supervisors have been organized in Ecuador (with South American participants) and in the Dominican Republic (for participants from Central America and the Caribbean).

The “Good practice workshops” are 2-days events gathering Foreign Trade Representatives from various countries based in the same capital. During the workshop, the participants present and review individual FTR services, analysing ways of making them effective, using relevant processes, tools and systems. Reviewing good practice creates awareness of valuable foreign experience and triggers motivation for progress at home. The ultimate objective of the workshop is to propose improvements and initiate change.

The provisional programme of the workshop in Dhaka can be downloaded here.
